SVP Silent Auction 2019 Synergy with Birds of Paradise painting

My painting, Synergy with Birds of Paradise, has been accepted for the Spring (In)formal Silent Auction Fundraiser by School of Visual Philosophy. The auction will help fund the purchase of new equipment at the School, including something near and dear to my heart – computers (woot! woot! woot!).

All of the artwork will be available to preview and purchase starting on May 18, at 11am, so if you’re planning to come to my open studio May 18-19, be sure to take a look!

The auction party should be a blast, with Santa Clara County Poet Laureate Mighty Mike McGee as the Emcee, music by the Paolozzi Trio, and several live demos to watch.

Painting inspired by Mural at Leif Erikson Park

I recently had the opportunity to think about what community spirit means to me and realized my experience painting a mural at a local park was the perfect example. I’ve submitted this new painting to the City of San José’s Office of Cultural Affairs’ Public Art Program as an example of community spirit and resilience.

Fresh Art Hung in San Jose

I updated the paintings I have hanging at KALEID Gallery in San Jose, California today. This was the fastest update I’ve ever done thanks to amazing help from Fernando. I’d run out of quarters for the parking meter out front, and was putting in every last dime I could dig out of my car, which gave me about 3-4 minutes per each. Pitiful hahaha. Fernando was so much help! Together, we did the whole hanging in less than an hour and I didn’t get a parking ticket. Woot!
